Margaret Radford Driggers

MARGARET RADFORD DRIGGERS FLORENCE, SC MARGARET RADFORD DRIGGERS, age 92, of Florence, passed away January 19, 2012 at Regency Hospital after an illness. Mrs. Driggers was born January 28, 1919 in Columbia, SC, a daughter of the late Jason E. Radford and Susie S. Radford.She was a member of Central United Methodist Church for over 70 years where she served on the Administrative Board, was a member of the Building Committee, a member of the Senior Adult Council, and a member of the Joy Seniors, Young at Heart, the Wesley Fellowship Class and the Joy Anderson Circle.She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.Margaret will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.Margaret was married for 55 years to the late Matthew J. Driggers, who died in 1991. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Jerrie Driggers, a sister, Elizabeth Hughes and a brother, Jeter Young. She is survived by a daughter, Joy D. Poole of Florence; granddaughter, Elizabeth Ashley "Betsy" Poole of Marion, NC and grandson, Dr. Alan Matthew Poole of Dallas, TX. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church, 265 W. Cheves Street, Florence, SC29503. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 21, 2012 in Central United Methodist Church with the Reverends Cynthia and Steven Taylor officiating.The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church in the Commons Area.A family burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
