Martha Jane Perritt Griebel

Martha Jane Perritt Griebel, 79, of Florence, passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2021 after a brief illness. Ms. Griebel was born in Mullins, SC, daughter of the late Hoyt and Lunette Sanderson Perritt.She was a graduate of Myrtle Beach High School in 1960 and obtained her nursing degree from Florence Darlington Technical College in 1978, then began her nursing career at McLeod Hospital.She went on to obtain her Masters Degree in Nursing and Certification in Critical Care.She retired after 32 years of service and was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church. She was preceded by her parents; brothers, Pete Perritt, Jack Perritt, Thomas Perritt, and David Perritt; sisters, Joyce Wohnig, Sara Kate Linton, and Margaret Perritt; grandson, Matthew Joseph Griebel; great-granddaughter, Angel Marie Mincey. Surviving are her four children, Martha Jean Griebel of Florene, Katherine R. (George) Toro of Phoenix, AZ, Anne Theresa (Harvey) Maddrix of Georgetown, FL, and Joseph Eugene Griebel of Florence; grandchildren, Michael Raymond Mincey, Ryan Samuel Griebel, and Anthony Wayne Maddrix; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Peggy Lindma of Mountain View, MO, and brother, Frank “Bill” M. Perritt of Los Angeles, CA. Memorials may be made to St. Ann Catholic Church, 113 S. Kemp Street, Florence, SC29506. A private burial will be held at a later date.
