Martha Jean Griebel

Martha Jean Griebel, 62, of Florence, SC, passed away June 20, 2024. She is the daughter of the late Eugene F. Griebel and Martha J. Perritt. Martha Graduated from Wilson High School in 1980 and went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science Degree from Francis Marion College in 1983. She also got an associate’s degree in mechanical engineering in 1990 from Florence Darlington Technical College. She served in the United States Air Force from 1985-1988. She was a lifelong member of Saint Anthonys Catholic Church where she served as a lector and custodian. She loved to read, travel, and shop. She gave generously to numerous charities. She had a kind heart and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her brother, Joseph E. Griebel of Florence, SC; sisters, Katherine Toro of Phoenix, AZ and Anne Maddrix of Georgetown, FL. A rosary will be said at 5:00 PM, vigil at 5:30PM with visitation to follow until 6:30 PM, on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be said at 11:00 AM, at Saint Anthony Catholic Church, on Thursday, June 27, 2024, with committal to follow at Florence National Cemetery at 1:00 PM.
