Mary Alice Harrell Barnes

Mary Alice Harrell Barnes, 79, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2023, at McLeod Hospice House surrounded by her family. Mrs. Barnes was born the daughter of the late Alice Stokes Harrell and Andrew Harrell. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and a retired nurse. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother, Richard Harrell. Mrs. Barnes is survived by her husband of 62 years, William C. “Billy” Barnes; sons, William C. “Sonny” (Kelly) Barnes, Jr. and David Brian (Kristin) Barnes; and grandchildren, Andy (Olivia) Barnes, Margaret (Cameron) Wheeler, Charles Barnes and Victoria Barnes. Memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, February 17, 2023, in the Ebenezer Baptist Church Auditorium directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Family will receive friends on Friday from 2:00 – 3:00 PM at the Church.
