Mary Elizabeth Spring Mccutcheon Dease

In loving memory of Mary Elizabeth Spring McCutcheon Dease, who departed this world at the age of 100 on Monday, October 21, 2024. Mary Dease leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. Ms. Dease was born in Florence County, SC, the daughter of the late Lillie Ann Matthews Spring and Maxie B. Spring. She attended Gospel Temple Worship Center and was a sewing machine operator for a local textile industry. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Frank McCutcheon and Reverend Jimmie Dease; sons, Elwood McCutcheon, Dallas McCutcheon, and Frank James McCutcheon; step-children, Aaron Dease, Ronald Dease, Donald Dease and brothers, Robert Spring and Dessie Spring; sisters, Gladys Tunstall, Hattie Lee Jones, Mabel Welch and Nellie Wallace. Surviving are her daughter, Margaret M. Holden of Florence; son, Levone (Dale) McCutcheon of Barnwell, SC; step-children, Sarah (Clayton) Nettles, Wade (Maryann) Dease, Brachel Dease, Rachel Dease; Ann (Wade) Everette; thirty eight grandchildren; fifty six great-grandchildren; and twenty seven great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends and family from 2:00 – 3:00 PM on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Gospel Temple Worship Center. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday at Gospel Temple Worship Center directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hicks Hill Cemetery, 1928 West Old #4, Scranton, SC.
