Mary Etta Fincher

Mary Etta Fincher, 79, of Florence, SC passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2022. Mrs. Fincher was born in Woodruff, SC a daughter of the late Leland Fortenberry and Maggie Lawter Fortenberry. She was a member of the Gregg Avenue Church of Christ and prior to her retirement, was an interviewer with the SC Government. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Earl, Jerry, Howard, and Theodore Fortenberry. Surviving are her husband, Grover Melvin Fincher, Jr. of Florence; daughter, Renee (Kenny) Dunaway of Gaffney, SC; grandchildren, Kendra (Seth) Martindale of Chesnee, SC and Jamie (Hannah) Dunaway of Shelby, NC; great-grandchildren, Kimber, Hayes, and Corral Martindale and Benson, Hadley, and Grady Dunaway; brother, Walker (Joann) Fortenberry of Tennessee; sister, Juanita Anthony of Rock Hill, SC. The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 pm Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home with the service to be held at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Florence Memorial Gardens.
