Mary Lou Lawhon

Mary Lou Lawhon, 82, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2022. She was born in Florence County, to the late John and Ellen Miles. Mrs. Lawhon was a loving and caring daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandma, and great-great-grandma to all. She was known as “MeMe” or “Moo” to some. She enjoyed her family, flowers, and gardening. She could be found on most days outside enjoying the sunshine with her family and grandchildren. All children were always welcomed at her house. She was a homemaker to her husband of 46 years. Mrs. Lawhon was a member of Pamplico Church of God. She was predeceased by her husband, James Marian Lawhon, and son-in-law, Jim Kemmerlin. She is survived by her children, Diane Kemmerlin of Florence, Patricia (Bobby) Smith of Effingham, Ronnie James (Rachel) Lawhon of Latta and Brenda (Robert) Butler of Effingham; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, neighbors and friends. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 29, 2022, at Florence Memorial Gardens directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
