Mary Lundy Bridges Florence, SC Mary Lundy Bridges, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, died Thursday, November 3, 2011. The family of Mrs. Bridges will receive friends at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home on Saturday, November 5th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. A private interment will be held at the cemetery of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Florence, South Carolina. Mrs. Bridges was born in Florence, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Lera Hutchinson Lundy and Thomas Wilkes Lundy. Mrs. Bridges was a long-time member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Florence. Mrs. Bridges was preceded in death by her husband, William Marshall (Bill) Bridges, Jr. Mr. Bridges died in 1985. Mrs. Bridges is survived by her three children, Stephen Patrick (Kathy) Dore, William "Bill" Marshall (Kathy) Bridges, III, Mary Neale Bridges (Brett) Fowler; four grandchildren, Jason Patrick (Michelle) Dore, Marshall McCown Bridges, William Ashley Fowler, Katherine Faith Fowler; and one great-grandchild, Peyton Elizabeth Dore. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Florence Area Humane Society, Post Office Box 4808, Florence, South Carolina 29506; or to Hebron Colony, 356 Old Turnpike Road, Boone, North Carolina 28607; or to the charity of one's choice. The family is particularly appreciative of the care shown by the staff of Elmcroft Assisted Living and the Heritage Home of Florence.
