Mary Powell Glenn

MARY POWELL GLENN FLORENCE, S.C. MARY POWELL GLENN, 77, of Florence, died Thursday, May 12, 2011 in the McLeod Hospice House after an illness. Mrs. Glenn was born in Hanna, S.C., a daughter of the late Earley and Leila Powell. She had retired from the Orr Company, franchisee of KFC in Florence. She was a member of Cross and Crown Lutheran Church, and had been active as a volunteer at McLeod Health and Fitness. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, David "Sarge" Glenn, by her parents, by her son, Doug Glenn; her brother, Eldridge "Pete" Powell and her sister, Bobbye P. Corbin. She is survived by her son, Earl J. (Rita) Glenn of Florence; her Step-daughter, Gayle Glenn Bedsole of Fayetteville, N.C.; 5 Grandchildren; Robin Glenn Howard, Theresa Glenn Mundt, Mary Glenn(Chris) Clark, Cherie Glenn(Chuck) McDonald and Earl J.(Jamie) Glenn, Jr.; 8 great-grandchildren; her sister, Pat Powell Kale of Florence, her daughter-in-law, Terry Glenn andbrother-in-law, Robert (Sandra)Glenn. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 14, 2011 in the Cross and Crown Lutheran Church.
