Matthew John Gainey

Matthew John Gainey, 50, of Lake City, SC, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023. Mr. Gainey was born the son of the late Mary Louise Taylor Gainey and David Clifton Gainey. He worked in agriculture sales at the Famers’ Market. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, David Clifton “Bubba” Gainey. Mr. Gainey is survived by his sister, Tonya (Dane) Watford; nephews, Marc and Taylor; aunts, Linda Anderson and Cathy Mitchum, and special family friends, Blakely Lamb, Jason Lamb, and Jonathan Lamb. Family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Monday, November 6, 2023, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Bethel Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
