Megan Moore Driggers, 47, of Florence, SC, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025. Megan was born in Florence, SC, the daughter of Dexter Moore and the late Tanya Rowley Beck. She was a graduate of Lake City High School. She was a member of Pergamos Methodist Church of Lake City. She adored her husband and boys. She most enjoyed being outdoors with her family, working in the yard, hunting, and being at the beach. Megan worked for Florence County for 26 years, beginning as a 911 dispatcher in 1999 and later advancing into the Emergency Management Division. In 2017, she was awarded the South Carolina Association Public Safety Official Palmetto Award. Megan also received her South Carolina Certified Emergency Management Certification in 2024, of which she was very proud. In the midst of her battle, Megan was fiercely determined to complete her education goals. In 2020, she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Emergency Management from Anderson University. She continued to work towards and obtain her Master’s Degree of Science in Emergency Management from Lander University, graduating in 2022. Megan was a fierce warrior and fought in “true Megan fashion” battling with perseverance until the end. Megan is survived by her husband, William Steven “Steve” Driggers; sons, Samuel Ethan “Sam” Driggers, William Judson “Jud” Driggers; stepsons, Joseph Michael Driggers (Logan) and Matthew Curtis Driggers; grandchild, Lily Reese Driggers; father, Dexter Moore and step-mother, Penny Moore; father-in-law, Drexell Turner; sisters, Eliza Moore Miles (Andrew) and Abbie Moore Hydrick; sister-in-law, Rachel (Will) Gainey. She is also survived by special Aunts and Uncles, Linda Moore-Morris and Steve (Elaine) Moore; cousin and best friend of 45 years, Beth (Curtis) Robinson; cousin, Harry “Berton” Morris and loving friend and “brother” of 26 years, Mitch Fulmore, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her mother, Megan is preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Jean Pitts Turner; paternal grandparents, Samuel George Moore, Jr. and Elizabeth Lane Moore; and maternal step-grandparents, McNeil McKenzie and Vernette McKenzie. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Lake City Memorial Park.
