Michael V. Broome

Michael V. Broome, 71, of Effingham, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022. Mr. Broome was the son of the late Francis Streett Broome and Voight Lee Broome. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corp and served during Vietnam.Mr. Broome was a member of Sound of Victory Holiness Church.He was an electrician by trade and was the coolest Dad in the universe and had a heart of gold. He now rests in the arms of our beloved Lord Jesus Christ. In addition to his parents, he predeceased by his son, Sonny Cumbie; sister, Vickey Carroway; and great-granddaughter, Hannah Olivia King. Mr. Broome is survived by his wife, Alice Taylor Broome; daughters Heather Williams (Joe) of Florence, Jeanne Barnes (Eric) of Florence, Maria Ledford (David) of Effingham and Pam Galloway (Kevin) of Effingham; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and sister, Lisa Welch of Florence. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 4, 2022, at Mount Hope Mausoleum Chapel.Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
