Michael Barnett Timms

Michael “Mike” Barnett Timms, 76, of Florence passed away on December 29, 2023, at McLeod Regional Medical Center following a long season of declining health. Mike was born in Aiken, SC, on December 22, 1947, the middle son of the late Jesse C. Timms, Jr. and Dorothy Shirley Timms. After graduating from Aiken High School, Mike resided for many years in Florence and the North Myrtle beach area where he worked, fished, and enjoyed time with friends and family. In 2010, he moved back to Florence to be closer to his family, especially his mother, Dot Timms, and his new grandsons, who were the treasures of his life. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Samuel Jarod Timms. Surviving are his son, Robbie (Grace) Timms and grandsons Carson and James Wade Timms of Florence, SC, and his brother Pat Timms of Myrtle Beach, SC. He was a beloved uncle to Allison Cunningham (Dan), Austin (Abe) White, Sarah Beth Baiden, and Jarod Timms. His great-nephews, Abraham and Anderson White, and great-niece Jocelyn Baiden brought him great joy. The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2024, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home with a memorial service beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the children or youth ministries of Central United Methodist Church at 265 West Cheves Street, Florence, SC 29501.
