Mickey Merene Moss Sr.

Mickey Merene Moss, Sr. born September 16, 1949, in Florence, SC to the late Jerry Ellis Moss, Sr. and Jacquelyn Deas Moss. Mickey was a graduate of McClenaghan High School; Marine Corp Veteran; He was an entrepreneur owning many businesses including Moss Enterprises, Moss Amusement, Moss Mini Mart, Moss Plaza, and more. Mickey loved his family fiercely and was happiest when holding a child. He was an avid golfer with a 3 handicap; enjoyed spending time playing some of the world's best golf courses with his golfing buddies; loved USC Gamecock football; and a good practical joke. In addition to his parents, Mickey was predeceased in death by his brother, Jerry Moss, Jr. and his nephew, Jerry Moss, III. Mickey is survived by his devoted wife, Wendy Floyd Moss; his eight children, Heather (Mike) Williamson, Bryan Moss, Haley Kemmerlin, Bree (Trevor) Houser, Chaney (Jordan) Kemmerlin, Fallon (Jeff) Barnes, Thomas Moss, and Mickey Moss, Jr.; five grandchildren, Reed Williamson, Barrett Williamson, Blakely Kemmerlin, Easton Smith, and Scarlett Houser; two sisters, Vicki Lyn (Hamp) Bobbitt, Dawn (Henry) Arrington; many cousins, nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank family and friends for the outpouring of love during Mickey's illness; Agape and Amedisys Hospices; and a special thank you to Marty Massey for the personal Bible lessons; leading Mickey in praying the sinner's prayer and accepting Jesus Christ as his Savior. We find comfort in knowing he is in Heaven. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 18, 2025, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 2:00 PM Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home with the burial to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Mickey was very giving and had a tender heart, especially for children. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
