Mildred P. Williams, 91, of Florence passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021. Mildred was born in Morristown, TN, and was the daughter of the late Glenn Parker and Ella WIlliams Parker. Prior to her marriage, she was secretary to the Director of Finance of the Atomic Energy Commission.She married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Horace WIlliams, in 1951. She was a devoted military wife who established a loving home for her family in numerous locations across the United States and abroad, including Hawaii and the Philippine Islands. Mildred was a devout Christian who lived her faith each day.She most recently was a member of First Baptist Church of HInesville, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Ralph Parker, and her sister, Vonda Isbell. Surviving are her husband, Horace R. Williams, of Florence; sons, Glenn R. (Mary) Williams of Phoenix, AZ and Gregg L. (Stephanie) Williams, of Florence, SC; daughters, Jeanette McKlveen of Lexington, SC and Patricia (Philip) Clayton of Myrtle Beach, SC; sister, Sylvia Harris of Columbus, GA; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at The Manor for the loving and compassionate care they gave to “Miss Mildred.” They would also like to thank the McLeod Hospice team for the support and guidance provided during her last days. The family will receive friends at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home in Florence on Friday, September 17, at 11:00 AM. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM in the chapel at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.Burial will follow at 1:00 PM at Florence National Cemetery.
