Miriam Louise Williamson Cox, 85, of Florence, SC passed away Thursday, October 10, 2024. She was born in Mullins, SC the daughter of the late Woodrow Williamson and Margaret Blanton Williamson. Mrs. Cox graduated from McLeod Infirmary School of Nursing, worked at McLeod Hospital for 20 years and she was instrumental in starting the GI lab at Mcleod Medical Center, and retired from Florence Diagnostics. She served as a nurse for 45 years in Florence, SC. She also played the organ and was a former Sunday School Director and Secretary at South Florence Baptist Church as well as the last charter member. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joyce “J.E.” Cox. Surviving are her daughters, Lynn (Lynn) Perkins, and Karen (Danny) Taylor; grandchildren, Carol (Troy) Inglis, Borey “Tripp” (Caroline) Perkins, and Rachel (Nick) Lane; great grandchildren, Troy, Sarah, Rebecca, Eli, and Natalie Inglis, Hadley, and Walker Perkins and Wyatt Lane; sister, Linda Inman.
