Norma Newsom Rowe

Norma Newsom Rowe, 92, of Florence, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023. Mrs. Rowe was born in Baldwin, FL a daughter of the late Joseph Calhoun Newsom and Mildred Irene Ryan Newsom. She was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, was very active in the church and was involved in the Sunday ministry at the Carriage House of Florence. Norma played piano, loved crocheting, cooking, and taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She retired from McLeod Pediatric Associates as Dr. Charles Jordan’s nurse. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph Henry Rowe; son, Daniel Wilson Rowe; daughter, Gloria “Jean” Rowe Newell; brother, Bill Newsom; and sister, Marjorie Newsom Crews. Surviving are her daughters, Beverly Rowe Bishop and Brenda Rowe (John Russel) Truett, both of Florence; daughter-in-law, Janet Rowe; grandchildren, William Preston (Christi) Collins, IV, Joseph Christopher Collins, Troy Davis (Gina) Truett, Heather Truett (David) Atkinson, Jennifer Mobley (Vincent) Matthews, Joseph Aaron (Diana) Mobley, John Daniel Truett, Joseph Rowe Truett, Jimmy Rowe, Robert (Alyssa) Ingram, Phillip Rowe, and Melissa Ryan Truett; great-grandchildren, Deborah Nicole Collins, Boyce Collins, Powell Collins, Lauren Collins, Erin LeighAnn Stone, Connor Layne Stone, John Ryan Truett, Mason Hutton Mobley, Joseph Henry Mobley, Holden Jackson, Calla Truett, and Hunter Wesley Turner; great-great-grandchild, Layton Zachary McNeil.
