Norwood Benjamin Turner, Jr.Born May 3, 1944 – fell into Eternal rest on Monday, November 22, 2021. after a long illness. Norwood was a graduate of the McClenaghan High School Class of 1962.He served in the National Guard and loved his country.He worked for Singleton’s Men’s Shop for years which fueled his love for being one of the best dressed men in town.Norwood was also a hardworking and knowledgeable car salesman and fleet manager at Horne Ford and John Calcutt Chevrolet respectively.He was a diehard Gamecock fan and loved spending his Saturdays tailgating and attending games with friends. Norwood was a loyal and devout friend.Norwood loved to fish, hunt, and play golf. He also played baseball and loved watching the Braves play.Sports were a big part of his life and he loved knowing his grandsons play baseball and football.He was a proud granddad and loved watching his granddaughters dance and compete in pageants. Norwood was a proud father of his two daughters, and he loved his nephew and family.He was a loving son and brother.One of the most honorable things Norwood has ever done is take care of his ailing mother for ten years until her death.He has now taken his flight home to be with his parents and brother. In addition to his mother, Virginia Smith Turner Cox, and father, Norwood Turner, Sr., he is predeceased by his brother, Joseph Randolph Turner, Sr. Norwood is survived by his daughters, Melanie Turner Keen (Stephen Keen) of Mt, Pleasant, SC and Melissa Turner Potter (Jay Potter) of Gainesville, GA; grandchildren, Oliva Grace Keen and James “Turner” Keen, both of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Anna Beth Potter and Wesley Benjamin Potter, both of Gainesville, GA; nephew, Joseph Randolph Turner, Jr. (Andrea); and great-niece, Ella Turner. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.
