OPAL FLOYD McCUTCHEON FLORENCE, SC OPAL FLOYD McCUTCHEON, 86, of Florence, died Thursday, February 24, 2011 at a Florence health care facility after an illness. Mrs. McCutcheon was born in Olanta, SC a daughter of the late Junior Winright and Florence Mae Thomas Floyd.She was a member of Quinby United Methodist Church with 20 years of attendance and served as a Communion Steward.She was a member of the Master Gardener's Club, the Quinby Garden Club and was a member of the Eastern Star, St. David's Chapter. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jesse J. McCutcheon; daughter-in-law, Linda McCutcheon; brother, Garland Floyd and a sister, Peggy Floyd Aikens. Surviving are her sons, James Richard (Carol) McCutcheon of Darlington, Kenneth O. McCutcheon of Florida and Harry Mitchell (Phyllis) McCutcheon of Florence; grandchildren, Betsy McCutcheon, Kathy (Mark) Karavan, Dee Ann Weatherford and Dana (Ty) Jones; six great-grandchildren; special friends, Billy (Dawn) Pettigrew, Jimmy (Vicky) Pettigrew and their children and her special caregiver, Lois Housand. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, February 27, 2011 in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.A private burial will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens.
