Peggy McLeod Peggy Lee Wilson McLeod, 76, of Florence died Wednesday, July 6, 2011 after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Peggy was born in Florence, SC, daughter of the late John Wallace and Eunice Zorn Wilson.She was a 1952 graduate of McClenaghan High Schooland a 1955 graduate of the McLeod Infirmary School of Nursing where she was an avid basketball player.She was employed at Sexton Dental Clinic in the Oral Surgery Department and McLeod Regional Medical Center in the Operating Room.She enjoyed watching her grandchildren participate in local and high school sports.She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church . Surviving are her children: Vicki (Lawrence) Thornton and Stephanie (Yancey) Stokes of Florence and Jim McLeod of Tampa, Florida; brother Buddy (Joyce) Wilson of Florence; ninegrandchildren: Jeffrey and Lauren Thornton, Brett, Jessica and Lindsay Stokes and Iain McLeod of Florence; Steffen, Nigel and Victoria McLeod of Norway.She is also survived by many loving and attentive nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Woodrow and G.C. Wilson and by three sisters, Mary and Miriam Rentz and Gertrude Gardner.
