Ralph Milton Vinson, Sr.

Ralph Milton Vinson, Sr., 84, of Florence, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2023. Mr. Vinson was born the son of the late Effie Bradley Vinson and Luther Vinson. He was a member of Mizpah Baptist Church where he was a former Deacon, a Sunday School teacher, a member of the choir and the Brotherhood. He retired as a Production Supervisor from Dupont after 38 years of service. Mr. Vinson was active with Cooks for Christ. He was a member and Past Master Mason with Flintville Lodge 158 AFM. He was a wonderful role model and a big man who had a big heart. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sisters, Irene and Eveleen, and brothers, Luther, J.W., Bill, Lewis, and Charlie Floyd. Mr. Vinson is survived by his wife of 63 years, Vivian Hinson Vinson; son, Ralph M. (Lisa) Vinson, Jr.; daughters, Donnell (Thomas) Purvis and Rebecca (Rick) McGee; grandchildren, Zachary Vinson, Blake Vinson, Lesley Lindsey and Leanna Purvis; great-grandchildren, Amelia Vinson and Clara Lindsey; brothers, Carroll (Sandra) Vinson and Stanley Vinson; and sisters, Nell Davis and Jean (Buster) Rush. Family will receive friends from 11:00:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Monday, May 8, 2023, at Mizpah Baptist Church. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday at Mizpah Baptist Church. Burial, with masonic rites, will follow the service at Mizpah Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
