Ramona Huggins Thompson Florence, SC Ramona Huggins Thompson, 80, of Florence passed away on Friday, August 5, 2011 in a local hospital after a brief illness. Mrs. Thompson was born in Horry Co., a daughter of the late Andrew Augusta and Reba Hayes Huggins.She was a graduate of Dillon High School and attended Draughon's Business College in Columbia.Mrs. Thompson retired from AT&T of Florence in 1983, where she was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and was a longtime member of Southside Baptist Church of Florence. Surviving are her loving husband of 55 years, Shelton Lenwood "Mutt" Thompson of the home; three daughters, Suzanne T. (Odis) Timmons of Rockingham, NC, Cynthia T. Streett of Durham, NC, and Teresa T. Bichler of Oxford, OH ; five grandchildren, Robin Hughes, Laura Reed, Wesley Thompson, Amy Watchous, and Linda Rhinehart; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 8, 2011 in the Chapel of Stoudenmire- Dowling Funeral Home.Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Dillon, SC. The family suggests memorials may be made to the Building Fund of Southside Baptist Church, 1356 Pineland Drive, Florence, SC 29505 or to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75231.
