Raymond Lavell Freeman

Raymond Lavell Freeman, 76, of Effingham, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2023. He retired from Credit Consulting & Repair. Mr. Freeman was born the son of the late Maggie Lee Kelly Freeman and Z. H. Freeman, Jr. He was of the Methodist faith, an avid golfer and loved playing poker. He was a member of the #1 Elks Lodge 1020 Florence, SC, a Past Exalted Ruler and was a great mentor for fellow Lodge members. He loved baseball, the Yankees, and was an avid USC Gamecock fan. Mr. Freeman is survived by his wife, Brenda Jo Rowe; sons, Lee Freeman of Florence, Brent Freeman of Darlington, and Ryan Freeman of Denver, CO; step-sons, Reid Wilson of Indiana and Josh Wilson of Florence; grandchildren, Kelsey Freeman, Avery Freeman, Cade Freeman, Harper Freeman, Peyton Freeman, and Emmy Freeman; step-grandchild, Bella Wilson; great-grandson, Thomas Bramlett; and brother, Steve (Jeannie) Freeman of Myrtle Beach, SC. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. Family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 at the funeral home.
