Reverend Jimmie Lee "Jim" Baker Hartsville, SC Reverend Jimmie Lee "Jim" Baker, 65, of Hartsville passed away Thursday, February 2, 2012 at his residence. Rev. Baker was born in Hartsville, a son of the late L.E. and Geneva Watkins Baker. He was a US Army Veteran. Rev. Baker was a minister for 37 years, was the founder and Pastor of Calvary Tabernacle Church and served as Principal for 32 years at Calvary Christian School. He had dedicated his life to serving in the mission field in Africa, China, and Ukraine. Rev. Baker is survived by his wife of 45 years, Viola Stewart Baker of Hartsville; 3 sons, Adam (Paula) Baker of Florence, Jacob (Christie) Baker of Albany, GA, and Daniel (Jennifer) Baker of Edgefield, SC; 3 daughters, Edie (Andrew) Park of Florence, Sarah Baker of Murfreesboro, TN, and Rebecca (Matthew) Benton of Hartsville; 2 brothers, Donnie Baker of Hartsville, and David Baker of Walhalla, SC; 3 sisters, Shirley O'Neal and Jean Brown, both of Hartsville, and Diane Portman of Kershaw, SC; 8 grandchildren, AJ Baker, Nicholas Baker, Joseph Warner, Autumn Warner, Bethany Park, Ian Park, Brantley Baker, and Bryson Baker. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Sunday, February 5, 2012 at Calvary Tabernacle Church. Burial will follow at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Lydia directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 4-6:00PM Saturday at the Calvary Tabernacle Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Missions for Calvary, 1812 E.
