Richard Clayton Parker

Richard Clayton Parker, 76, of Florence, SC passed away Sunday, February 23, 2025. He was born in Conway, SC, the son of the late Marvalee Herring Parker and Lloyd Clayton Parker. Richard, a devoted husband to his loving wife of 28 years, was an avid hunter and dedicated volunteer. He was an active member of Pisgah United Methodist Church, serving in many roles throughout the years. A proud Vietnam War veteran, he enjoyed watching football and NASCAR, always cheering for his beloved Gamecocks. In his free time, he loved playing golf and spending time outdoors. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Surviving are his wife, Carol Stephens Parker; son, Clay Parker; brothers, Gene Parker, and Don (Tammy) Parker; sister in law, Donna (Allie) Stephens; brother in law, Robbie (Sharon) Stephens; and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends and family from 2:00-3:00 PM on Friday, February 28, 2025 at Pisgah Methodist Church with the funeral service to follow at 3:00 at the church. Burial to follow at the church cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Pisgah Methodist Church, 621 N Ebenezer Rd, Florence, SC 29501.
