Robert Earl Dudley, Sr.

Robert Earl Dudley, Sr., 83, of Florence, SC, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023. Earl was born the son of the late Mary Louise Usher Dudley and Carl Ansel Dudley. He received his Bachelor of Science from Clemson University and retired as a manager from Carolina Eastern Company after thirty years of employment. Earl was a member of Mizpah Baptist Church where he served as Deacon for many years. He served on many committees through the years at Mizpah but what he loved the most was cooking for others at the Valentine Banquet, the Brotherhood Breakfast and the Baptist Collegiate Ministry at Francis Marion University. Earl enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing golf, Clemson Football, and watching a good western. After retirement he found joy in traveling across the United States with Minnie. He is survived by his wife, Minnie R. Dudley of Florence; son, Robert E. Dudley, Jr. (Julie) of Greenville; daughters, Tracy McClam (Ken) of Florence and Pat Siegal (Chris) of Setauket, NY; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, Carl A. Dudley, Jr. of Virginia Beach, VA and C. Braxton Dudley of Galivants Ferry, SC; and sisters, Barbara Ann Thomas of Greensboro, NC and Alma Jean Shelley of Galivants Ferry, SC. The family would like to express a special thank you to Dan Garrison, his Hospice nurse, for his constant care and compassion. Family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Mizpah Baptist Church directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
