ROBERT PAUL GIMLA Florence, South Carolina ROBERT PAUL GIMLA, 72, died Wednesday, November 3, 2010 in a local healthcare facility after an illness. Mr. Gimla was born in West Allis, Wisconsin, the son of the late Paul Gimla and Virginia Bishop Gimla.He was plant foreman at Owen Steel where he retired in 1995.He was a member of American Legion Post #1 and VFW Post #3181.Mr. Gimla was retired from US Army.He had also been a security guard at Carolina Hospital System for six years. Surviving are his wife, Victoria (Vickie) Kosmowski Gimla of the home, his daughters, Karla (Dennis) Kelly of Suffolk, VA, Marcia Gimla of Elkhorn, WI, Paula (Dean) Smith of Darien, WI, step-daughter, June (Kevin) Kelly of Florence, SC; step-sons Dale (Iris) Heiden of Columbia, SC, Bruce Sheaffer of Columbia, SC, brothers Ronald (Sigrid) Gimla of Morresville, NC, Paul (Kathy) Gimla of Carlsbad, CA; sisters, Laura Jean (Ronald) Thein of Cudahy, WI, Gloria Gimla of Tuson, AZ, Patricia Wagner of Milwaukee, WI, Maureen (Alan) Wagner of Kimberly WI; grandchildren, Kyle, Kristopher, Brooke, Bryce, Megan, and Brett, step-grandchildren, TJ, Brad, Kristin and Keith, step-great-grandchildren Camille, TJ, Liam, and Kimberly; a number of nieces and nephews, close friends, Kent Fields and many other dear friends. Services will be at 10 A.M. Wednesday, November 10, 2010 in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.Burial with military honors will follow at Florence National Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
