RONALD DOUGLAS MURPHY FLORENCE, S.C. RONALD DOUGLAS MURPHY, 51, of Florence, died Sunday, April 8, 2012 at his residence after an illness. Mr. Murphy was born in Anchorage, AK, a son of Marion Gilbert Murphy and the late Sybil Martin Murphy. He was a member of Freedom Baptist Church in Darlington and had served as an MP in the S.C. National Guard. He was formerly employed with Fields Construction. In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Jackie Rogers Murphy of Florence; his son, Joshua (Courtney) Murphy of Florence; his step-mother, Mary Murphy of Florence, sister, Sally (Richard) Hardee of Florence and special cousin, Karen (Larue) Hendrix of Florence. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 11, 2012 in the chapel of Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Florence Memorial Gardens, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
