Ronald Allen Matthews

Ronald Allen Matthews, 45, of Florence, SC, passed away on Monday, May 08, 2023. He was born the son of Ronald O. Matthews and Deborah Elmore Matthews. Allen was married to his loving wife Kelly Matthews for 19 years. He served in the Navy for 4 years and had many accomplishments during those years. Things Allen loved was fishing and going to the river, watching his sons play baseball, watching NASCAR, being outdoors and outdoorsy, and tinkering with cars. He was an amazing husband, father, brother, and son. He is preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Laverne and Audrey Elmore; paternal grandparents, Jay and Wilma Matthews. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Kelly Matthews; his sons, Ethan Matthews and Chase Matthews; sister, Christie (Kenneth) Patsches; nephews, Jeffrey (Morgan) Strickland, Jason (Kortland Robinson) Strickland, Cody Patsches. Visitation will be held at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, May 11, 2023. Funeral services will be held at South Florence Baptist Church at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 12, 2023 Burial will follow at Florence National Cemetery.
