Samuel "Sammy" Boyd White

Samuel “Sammy” Boyd White, 72, of Florence, SC, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023. He was born in Florence, SC, the son of the late A. G. White and Rudell Dowling White. Mr. White was a graduate of Clemson University. After which, he pursued a career in teaching. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Timmonsville, where he served as a Deacon. Mr. White enjoyed the outdoors, farming, and horses. His love of farming caused him to be heavily involved with the Future Farmers of America. He was an avid Clemson football fan. He was a fantastic cook, who enjoyed barbequing. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sister, Dianne Gibbs Lee; and grandson, Seth Samuel Mudge. Surviving are his daughters, Amie (Jim) Mudge, Heather (Mark) Andrews, and Tiffany (BJ) Edwards; grandchildren, Nicholas (Ashlyn) Chappell, Megan Mudge, Mason Mudge, Trace Edwards, and Tyce Edwards; great-grandchild, Easton Chappell; and former wife and friend, Lovett Hobbs White. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at https://www.stjude.org/ or to the Future Farmers of America at https://www.ffa.org/. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Sunday, October 22, 2023, in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service.
