Sandra J. Kiessling

Sandra J. Kiessling, aged 79, passed away peacefully in her home on September 27, 2024, in Florence, SC. Born on August 8, 1945, in Huntington WV, Sandra dedicated her life to the service of others, both as a professional and through her personal endeavors. Sandra pursued her passion for helping others by earning a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology at Marshall University, followed by a Master's in Guidance Counseling from Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH. Her career as a social worker allowed her to touch many lives, providing support and compassion to those in need. An active and welcoming member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, Sandra's faith was a cornerstone of her life. Always looking for ways to facilitate fellowship, Sandra established the St. Ann's Helping Hands group, a group committed to sharing their talents making blankets and girl’s dresses for gifting to others. Understanding the unique needs of caregivers, Sandra volunteered for many years as a respite facilitator for others. Sandra’s involvement in many outreach organizations and prayer groups further exemplified her commitment to her faith, community service, and strong desire to bring joy to others. Sandra's memory is cherished by her loving husband of 57 years, David J. Kiessling; her children, David John Kiessling Jr. and Amy Elizabeth Kiessling; and her brother, Daniel J. Staats. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kermit Earl Staats and Norma Jean McCoy Staats. A Rosary will be held at 5:00 PM, followed by a visitation until 7:00 PM on October 1st at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 AM on October 2nd at St. Ann Catholic Church.
