Sara Hood Hutchinson

SARA HOOD HUTCHINSON FLORENCE, SC SARAHOOD HUTCHINSON, 87, of Florence, died Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at her residence after an illness. Mrs. Hutchinson was born in Blenheim, a daughter of the late Alexander A. and Alice Gray Hood. She was a member of First Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert O’Neal Hutchinson, her brother, J.C. Hood, and her son-in-law, Rufus Sherrill. Survivingare her daughters, Renee (Guy) Proctor of Effingham,and Peggy Sherrill of Southport, N.C., her sister, Carolyn H. (Luther) Clapp of Winston Salem, N.C.; her brothers, Donald G. (Alvia) Hood, Sr. and Alex M. (Gerry) Hood, both of Florence;and several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Amedisys Hospice of South Carolina, 217 Dozier Blvd., Suite 200, Florence, SC 29501. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 13, 2010 in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
