Sara Mooneyhan Gandy Sara Mooneyhan Gandy joined our Father in heaven on August 28th, 2011. She passed away at McLeod Hospital following a short-term illness. Sara was born on August 13th, 1933 in Chesterfield County to the late Bannon and Angie Mooneyhan. Following the death of her mother as an infant, Sara was raised by her loving step-mother, Odelle Mooneyhan.Sara was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Florence. She worked and retired from food service in Florence School District One, but spent most of her years raising her 4 children and providing a loving home for the family she loved so very much.She loved and was loved dearly by many, including her husband, Tommy. Sara and Tommy had recently celebrated 59 wonderful years together. Sara is predeceased by her parents; sister, Ann Register of Florence and brother, Glenn (Carol) Mooneyhan of Pine Ridge, S.C. Sara is survived by her husband, Thomas M. Gandy of Florence; three sons, Thomas Michael (Deeann Christmas) Gandy of Florence, Gregory Scott (Krystal) Gandy of Florence, and Thomas Michael (Jada) Gandy, II of Florence; one daughter, Susan (Frank) Smith of Draper, Utah; grandchildren, Kelsey Jeffords, Brooks Gandy and Olivia Gandy, all of Florence and Christian Smith of Draper, Utah; siblings, Frank (Kitty) Mooneyhanof Lugoff, Peggy (Gene) Graham of Camden, Billy (Carolyn) Mooneyhan of Bethune; Mickey (Sammie) Mooneyhan of Hartsville; Charles (Janet) Mooneyhan of Camdenand Linda (Wayne) Johnson of Chesterfield. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Grace Baptist Church Building Fund, 2400 Third Loop Road, Florence, SC 29501. The Reverend John Collins will preside over funeral services held at 12:00 noon on Friday, September 2, 2011 at Grace Baptist Church on Third Loop Road. Burial will follow at the Florence National Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends and family on Thursday, September 1st from 6 - 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
