Steven "Shane" Boatman

Steven “Shane” Boatman, 55, of Mars Bluff, SC, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. He was born in Cleveland, MS, the son of the late Russell O. Boatman and Ruby Melton Boatman. He attended school in both Cleveland, MS and Florence, SC. He graduated from South Florence High School. As a Downs Syndrome adult, he still remained forever a child. He had a love for anything Sesame Street, especially Big Bird and Snuffy. He always had a smile on his face. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brother, Russell Kerry Boatman. Surviving are his brother, Benjamin (Erin) Boatman; and sisters, Susan (Tom) Bailey and Rebecca Streett (Tom Werts). The family would like to give a special thanks to Janet Wiseman, Wendy Rabon, and Janice McFadden, as well as the staff of Agape Hospice and the staff of the Saleeby Center for the care and love they provided for Shane. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Florence Memorial Gardens Chapel with a visitation to follow in the chapel.
