Steven Eugene Matthews

Steven Eugene Matthews, 63, of Florence, SC, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024. He was born in Florence, SC, the son of Anna McElveen Matthews and the late Howard E. Matthews. Mr. Matthews was a graduate of East Clarendon High School, in Turbeville, SC. He worked as an auto mechanic for Horne Ford for a number of years before he worked for both Darlington County and Florence County. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Carl Matthews, and Darryl Matthews. In addition to his mother, surviving are his brother, David S. (Nancy) Matthews, of Hartsville, SC; his nieces, Ashley “Abby” Fowler and Grace Matthews; and special couple, Wayne and Betty Roush, of Florence, SC.
