Steven Matthew Ross

Steven Matthew Ross, 43, of Florence, SC, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025. Matthew was born the son of Jolanda (Lana) Stanley Ross and Dr. Steven Robert Ross. He was a loving and happy son, brother, and uncle who brought so much joy to all who knew him. His laughter was infectious and he loved acting out scenes from his favorite movies, especially from Jim Carey’s “The Mask.” He was gentle, kind, and caring, and had the best sense of humor. He loved all of his superheroes, especially Batman and Superman. He loved swimming and going to the beach. His favorite past time was playing on the computer and watching YouTube videos about Christmas. He always made a special pumpkin pie every Thanksgiving and knew it was time for Christmas when he made it. Matthew was also a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sisters, Emily Maria Ross and Ellen Ross Rodgers (Brent): and his nephew Ethan Jarrett Rodgers and niece Lilly Ashley Rodgers. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Monday, March 10, 2025, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Family will have a private graveside service.
