Thetis Johnson Sauls Thetis Johnson Sauls, 86, of Florence, died Friday, September 09, 2011 at the residence of her daughter, Patsy Sauls, after an illness. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 12, 2011 at Southside Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Florence Memorial Gardens Cemetery, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Mrs. Sauls was born in Willow Springs, NC, a daughter of the late James and Ethel Truelove Johnson. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church, where she held several positions within the church including Sunday School Teacher. She had been employed as an Operator with Southern Bell and was also employed later with JC Penney. She was preceded in death her parents, husband, Creighton Albert Sauls, who died May 9, 1999; brother, Cecil Johnson; sisters, Irene Johnson, Ethel Johnson and Florence Penny. Surviving are her daughters, Patsy Sauls of Florence and Peggy (Steve) Schroeder of Albuquerque, NM; granddaughter, Jennifer Smith of Alburquerque, NM. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Sunday at the Funeral Home and other times at the daughter's residence, 910 Kirby Farm Drive, Florence.
