THOMAS DAVID "TOMMY" KING, SR. FLORENCE, SC THOMAS DAVID "TOMMY" KING, SR., 55, of Florence, died Sunday, September 12, 2010 at his residence after an illness. Mr. King was born in Kansas City, Missouri, a son of the late John William and Nona Inez Bass King.He was a retired mechanic and liked fishing, gardening, sports and helping others. He was preceded in death by his parents; previous wife, Sylvia Sue Weatherford King; brothers, Terry (Butch) King and John William King, Jr.; sister, Cheryl King. Surviving are his wife, Barbara Ann Gilbert King; children, Thomas King, Jr., Jessica (Jimmy) Greene and Chrystal Hiers, all of Florence, Candace King of Columbia, and Shane King of New York; step-children, Audrey Elliott, Daniel Beasley, Beth Beasley and Randy Beasley, all of Florence and Joey Beasley of Lamar; grandchildren, Austin King, Jacob Cox, Tyler Lovett, Skylar Hartley, Alisa Hiers, Alex Hiers and Gavin Shelley; step-grandchildren, Rachel Elliott and Kelly Elliott; brothers and sisters, Pete (Loretta) King and Shawn (Paul) Hudson, both of Effingham, Gloria Carter of Charleston and Sharon Gill of Darlington. Memorials may be made to Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home to assist the family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 15, 2010 in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.Burial will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 - 11 AM Wednesday prior to the service.
