Thomas Brandon Spell, 47, of Florence, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2024. Mr. Spell was born in Florence, SC a son of James Thomas “Tommy” (Brenda) Spell and Dianne Gillam Curry. He was a member of Mizpah Baptist Church. Brandon was a former EMT, had been an officer with the Darlington Police Department, the Florence County Sheriff’s Office, and McLeod Security. He had also worked for the Florence City Fire Department and volunteered with Windy Hill Fire Department. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Steve Curry; step-mother, Jane Spell; paternal grandparents, Annie Liza Spell and David Von Lee Spell; and maternal grandparents, Marion Gillam and Margaret Gillam. Surviving are his parents; daughter, Blake Lloyd; son, Payton Spell Nesmith; fiancée, Krystal Gandy; sister, Dana Gannon; step-sister, Crystal (Mike) Shaughnessy; brother-in-law, Jamie Gannon; niece and nephew, Sara Beth Gannon and Matthew Gannon. Contributions may be made to the family to assist with expenses. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Stoudemire-Dowling Funeral Home with the service to be held at 3:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Mizpah Cemetery.
