Thomas Luther Thompson

Thomas Luther Thompson, 95, of Florence, SC, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2023. He was born in Bennettsville, SC, the son of the late Thomas Luther Thompson and Ion Doreen Reardon. He was a longtime member of Immanuel Baptist Church and the Hampton Masonic Lodge #206. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite AFM, and the Omar Shrine Temple. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rosa Lee Stone; brothers, William Elmore Thompson, and Daniel Prentice Thompson; and sister, Jessie Curry. Surviving are his sons, Thomas Luther Thompson, Jr., W. Prentice Thompson, and Woodrow Wayne Thompson; daughter, Sandra K. Stewart (Ben); grandchildren, Tanya Fuller, Cheray B. Horton, Laura Pusser (Jay), Emily Finklea (Tom), and Clay Windham (Katelyn), 6 great- grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. The family would like to thank everyone at McLeod Hospice House for all of the wonderful love, care and support he received during his stay. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church, 306 W. Cherokee Road, Florence, SC 29501 or to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital https://www.shrinerschildrens.org/ The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Friday, September 15, 2023 at Immanuel Baptist Church with the service to be held at 11:00 AM in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
