Vasiliki H. Makris

Vasiliki “Bessie” H. Makris, of Florence, SC, passed away peacefully with her family at home Monday, December 23, 2024. Vasiliki was born in Karpanisi, Greece on February 25, 1934. She was a longtime member of the Transfiguration of Our Savior Greek Orthodox Church. She also worked alongside her husband at Roney’s Restaurant. She was the daughter of the late John Kahabaris and Kalliopi Tsioni. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harry Pete Makris; son, John Harry Makris; brothers, Konstantinos Kahabaris and George and Nikolas; sister, Mary Mouris. Surviving are her son, Peter Makris; grandchildren, Connor Makris and Harrison Makris; nephew, Manuel Mouris; and sister, Sister Fivi Dimitra. The family will receive friends Saturday, December 28, 2024, at the Transfiguration of Our Savior Greek Orthodox Church from 1:00-2:00 PM with a service to follow at 2:00 PM. Entombment will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Memorials can be made to the Transfiguration of Our Savior Greek Orthodox Church at 2990 S. Cashua Drive, Florence, SC 29501.
