Virginia McClam Turner Virginia McClam Turner, 87 years old, the widow of Maxwell Reid Turner, Sr., passed away at her residence – Heartland Health Care Center, Hanahan, SC on January 19, 2012. She was born on August 29, 1924, the daughter of the late William Walter McClam and Effie Bethune McClam. Ms. Turner resided on Rutledge Ave in Charleston for forty years. She graduated from J.C. Lynch High School, Coward, SC.She was a member of Citadel Square Baptist Church and was a past Worthy Matron of the Stella Vita Chapter 99 of the Order of the Eastern Star. Surviving are two children, Liz T. Bevins (wife of Damon P. Bevins) of Mt Pleasant, SC and Maxwell Reid Turner, Jr. of Fuquay-Varina, NC; three grandchildren, Laura T. Almond of Traveler’s Rest, SC, Blythe T Roycroft of Apex, NC and Jonathan R. Turner of Kaiserslautern, Germany; and two great granddaughters, Heather Almond and Olivia Almond. The family received friends from 7 – 9 PM Friday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at St Paul’s United Methodist Church, 159 St Paul’s Road in Coward, SC.Interment will follow in the St. Paul's United Methodist Church Cemetery in Coward, SC, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
