Vivian Gray Christenbury

Vivian Gray Christenbury, 81, cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, who touched the lives of all who knew her entered eternal glory on December 11, 2023, surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on July 25, 1942, in Concord, NC, she was the daughter of the late Hurley Lee Gray Sr. and Stella Mae Gray. She was predeceased by her sister Peggy Gray Burnette and brothers William David “Buddy” Gray and Hurley Lee “Pete” Gray, Jr. She is survived by her children Kimberly Thomas of Florence, SC, Kelly Chipley (Brant) of Spartanburg and Kevin Christenbury of Clemson; grandchildren: Chasity Padgett (Michael), Rusty DeLung (Reanna), Adam Thomas, Brantley Chipley, Braxton Chipley, Rosalee Christenbury and Walker Christenbury; great-grandchildren Jessie, Cadence, River, Austin, and Hailey. Her sister Angie Gray Cousins (Chuck) of Concord, NC and her life-long friend Gail Spears (Wayne) from Gastonia, NC. Vivian retired from SCE&G after 25 years of service. She was very loving and always had a big hug for others and a smile on her face. She loved and adored her family and there was nothing she would not do for them. The family will receive friends at the family home on Thursday, December 14, 2023, from 6-8 pm in Florence, SC. Memorial service will take place at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at Redemption Life Fellowship, 1311 Pelham Road, Greenville, SC.
