W. Franz Williams

W. Franz Williams Pamplico, SC W. Franz Williams, 96, of Pamplico and formerly of Greenville, died Saturday, January 22, 2011 in a Florence hospital after an illness. Mr. Williams was born in Enoree, SC a son of the late Walter Clyde and Gertrude Marler Williams. He was a member of Dunean Baptist Church in Greenville and had attended the Pamplico United Methodist Church in Pamplico. He was a life member of the Rossie Walker Masonic Lodge AFM. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife of 65 years, Katherine G. Williams, who died in 1999; brother, Clyde Williams and a sister, Ruth Turner. Surviving are his wife Irene Bishop Williams of Florence; son, Merle Kenneth (Joan Covington) Williams of Pamplico; 3 grandchildren, Paul (Faye) Williams of Alabama, David Williams of Florida and Kendra Williams of Pamplico; 2 great-grandchildren, Christian and Matthew Williams. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Burial will follow directed by Gray Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Gray Funeral Home in Laurens.
