Wade Anthony Ward, 70, of Effingham, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2022. Mr. Ward was born in Florence, SC a son of the late Wade Hampton Ward and June Steen Ward.He was a member of Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church and retired from the Florence Fire Department after 24 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by a sister, Carroll Ward Evans. Surviving are his wife, Kathy Ward of Effingham; daughters, Melissa Ward (Mike) Hildreth and Angela Ward Hicks; grandchildren, Jackson Hicks, Ethan Hildreth, and Owen Hicks; brother, Phillip Ward; and a number of nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Lebanon Free Will Baptist Building Fund, 7001 Friendfield Road, Effingham, SC 29541. The family will receive friends from 2 – 3 pm Sunday, May 29, 2022 at Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church with the service to be held at 3:00 pm in the church sanctuary.Burial will follow in Lebanon Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
