William "Bill" Herman Bailey, Iii

William “Bill” Herman Bailey, III, 77, of Florence, SC, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024. Mr. Bailey was born the son of the late Mary Price Bailey and Herman Bailey, Jr. He served in the U. S. Marines during Vietnam where he received a Navy Accommodation Medal, a Purple Heart, a Vietnamese Service Medal, a Vietnamese Campaign Medal and a National Defense Service Medal. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Larry Bailey and sister, Brenda Joyce Bailey. Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Alford Bailey; daughter, Melissa (Eddie) Chavis of Florence; sisters, Linda Sauls of Effingham, SC and Phyllis (Milton) Taylor of Selma, NC and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at South Florence Baptist Church. Entombment will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with military honors.
