William "Billy" Howard Dewitt

William “Billy” Howard DeWitt, Jr., 83, of Florence, SC, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022. Mr. DeWitt was born the son of the Marguerite “Rae” McRae Peavey Dewitt and William Howard DeWitt, Sr.He served in the Army National Guard and was employed for thirty years with Florence Steel Erectors, Inc. where retired as CEO.Mr. DeWitt was a member of First Baptist Church in Florence and a member of Hampton Masonic Lodge #204. He is survived by his wife, Theodora Odom DeWitt; sons, Tim (Theodora) DeWitt and Stephen (Angie) Ham, both of Florence; daughters, Tonya (Michael) Hutchinson of Sarasota, FL and Stephanie Ham Sturkie of Florence; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and brother, Jerry Wayne (Lynn) DeWitt of Florence. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Florence Memorial Gardens directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
