William C. Doar

William C. Doar Jr., 56, of Florence SC, passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021. Bill was the son of Patricia Taylor Doar and the late William Cuttino Doar, Sr. He graduated from Socastee High school and attended Coastal Carolina University. He was a member of Florence Baptist Temple. Bill spent his career as owner of the Pee Dee territory Manpower franchises, but his true passion was tactical defense and serving for over 20 years as an Advanced Constable for the State of South Carolina. Bill worked with the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) and for many other law enforcement agencies around the state, and also volunteered with Florence County Emergency Management and assisted with their COBRA team. Surviving are his wife, Laura Cecelia Doar, and daughter of the home, Eva Clare Doar. He is also survived by his mother, Patricia Taylor Doar; sons, William Cuttina Doar III and Jonathan Taylor Doar. Daughters Meredith Libby Doar and Mallory Patricia Doar. Granddaughters, Libby Hayes and Everlee Taylor Doar, and a sister, Teresa Kern. He was preceded in death by his father and two children, Jacob and Sara Doar. Memorials may be made to Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) at concernsofpolicesurvivors.org. The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 pm Monday, September 20, 2021 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at the Florence Baptist Temple.
