William Gene Park Florence, SC William Gene Park, 78, died Sunday morning, June 03, 2012 in a Florence hospital after an illness. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 05, 2012 at Southside Free Will Baptist Church in Darlington. Burial will follow in Florence Memorial Gardens Cemetery, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Mr. Park was born in Chester, SC a son of the late Johnny W. and Frances Evelyn Railey Park. He was a member of the Masons and Shriners. He was a member of Southside Free Will Baptist Church in Darlington. He retired in April 2003 as a Truck Driver for SoCar. He was a veteran of the US Army, having served during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Joyce Ann Powell Park; sister, Pauline Leamond and his step-father, Lemuel Brighman, who raised him. Surviving are 2 sons, Gene (Cathy) Park of Florence and Scott Park and partner, Travis Vincent of Camden, SC; grandson, Mason Park of Florence; sisters, Toni (Bruce) Schaeffer of Bristol, TN., and Donna Brighman of Ypsilanti, Michigan.
