William “Carey” Keith, 75, of Florence, SC, passed away March 20, 2025. He is the son of the late John D. Keith and Ruby Sutton Keith. William shared 47 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Nell Keith. As the proud owner of Palmetto Machine for 26 years, he dedicated himself to his work. He had a deep passion for fishing and classic cars, but nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his cherished grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter Stephanie Denise Keith. Surviving are his wife, Nell Smith Keith; daughters, Lori (Toney) Baker and Leah Cooksey (Nathan Poston); grandchildren, Tyler Cook, Caitlin Cooksey, and Teddy Baker; sister, Paulette Ballard; special friends, Teresa (Jamie) Sims, Peyton Sims, Stacey Sherer, and Joel (Debbie) Mercado; business partners, Sterling Hewitt and James Bellflowers and his employees at Palmetto Machine. The family will receive friends and family Sunday, March 23, 2025, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. A funeral service will be Monday, March 24, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens.
